meeting, Thursday, December 14, 6:30p
for our Christmas
The Laurel Guild is a women’s group that
meets in one another’s homes once a month, excepting June, July, and August. The meetings begin at
7:00pm with devotions and prayer. This group supports the work of the White Cross by preparing school and
health kits as well as roller bandages. Donations are made regularly to Mary’s Place which serves
the Burmese refugee community in the city of Rochester. The Guild is also a strong supporter of Aurora
House, a recently opened hospice in the town of Ogden. These are just a few of the areas the Guild supports.
Fund raisers include an annual dinner put on in October
and a bake sale at the polls on Election Day. Recipes were gathered from members and friends of OBC a few
years ago and a cookbook was published. There are still copies available for $10 each. Often,
the Guild will contribute to a financial need of the church as well as maintaining kitchen supplies. The
group also sends cards for birthdays and to those dealing with illness.
White Cross work day in March was a great success and much was accomplished!
Thanks to all OBC members who helped roll bandages and
kits. Our totals were 244 roller badages and 98 school kits!
You are awesome!
